Daniel Ruth
President and Chief Executive Officer, Jewish Home of San Francisco and Moldaw Family Residences at 899 Charleston

Daniel Ruth’s previous facility and community-based health care experience includes both the private and not-for-profit sectors of health care. He has served as CEO of The Jewish Home since July 2002. He joined the Home from Village Shalom in Kansas City, where he had served as President and CEO since 1997. During his five-year tenure, he led development of a continuum of care retirement community, involving seven different levels of residential and community-oriented care and facilities on 27 acres in Overland Park, Kansas. He previously was Executive Vice President & CEO of the Sharon Home, Inc., a provider of long-term care services to the Jewish elderly of Winnipeg. His background includes a variety management positions with The Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care; West Park Long Term care and Special Rehabilitation Hospital; Peat Marwick Stevenson & Kellogg, Lifestyle Retirement Communities; and Beacon Hill Lodges, Inc. He received a Master’s degree in health administration (M.H.Sc.) from the University of Toronto.

Marilyn Israel
Executive Director, Moldaw Family Residences at 899 Charleston

Marilyn Israel comes to Moldaw Family Residences with extensive senior living management experience, most recently serving as executive director of a life-care community in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her more than 25 years of experience in senior housing, health care and human services includes seven years with Balfour Senior Care in Louisville, Colorado, holding the positions of vice president of operations and executive director at The Lodge at Balfour and executive director of Balfour Retirement Community. Prior to that, Israel served as administrator and human resources/staff development director for ManorCare Health Services in Boulder. She holds a bachelors of science in nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Chicago, Illinois and a masters degree in nursing from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She is a licensed registered nurse and nursing home administrator.

Alan Sataloff
Chief Executive Officer, Oshman Family Jewish Community Center

Alan Sataloff joined the Palo Alto JCC in July 2004 following a nationwide search for an executive to lead the Center’s development of a new, permanent home. He is a 22-year-veteran of leading Jewish community centers around the country. His most recent role was as CEO of the Weinstein JCC in Richmond, Virginia, which has an annual operating budget of $4.2 million and a staff of 40 full-time and 120 part-time employees. In Richmond, he led a successful $17 million capital campaign for a major expansion and facility renovation, and managed the construction project. He previously was Assistant Director of the Stroum JCC of Greater Seattle, a Program Director of JCC Metrowest in West Orange, New Jersey and the Memphis JCC, and a Program Assistant at the JCC of Houston, Texas. He holds a Master’s degree from Yeshiva University and Master’s and Bachelor of Science degrees from SUNY College at Brockport, New York.

Taube Koret Campus for Jewish Life
